GitMe partner guide
This guide is for approved GitMe partners. Your invitation email links to the partner portal. Activate your account there, then sign in with your partner email. The portal is separate from the GitMe customer panel.
Choose a referral method
Share your link
Copy the referral link shown on your portal dashboard. It contains your unique ref code. Share the complete link with a prospective customer. When they choose Sign up on GitMe's landing site, GitMe carries the referral to the customer signup page. Both email and Google signup are supported.
Keep the link intact. Do not replace its destination with a direct link to the customer panel, because a direct panel link may not carry the referral. The referral window shown in your agreement determines how long a qualifying visit can lead to attribution.
You do not need to build a technical integration. If you maintain your own website, campaign or CRM, place the same referral link in your call to action and use your own tracking for your marketing activity. The portal is the source of record for accepted GitMe attribution.
Register an opportunity before the customer signs up
For a company you are already speaking with, use Register a deal in the portal. Enter its company name, corporate domain, contact details and context. GitMe reviews the deal. A submitted deal does not reserve the customer until GitMe approves it. The protection end date appears in the portal after approval.
Register a deal before the company creates its GitMe account. A company already using GitMe cannot be automatically claimed afterward. If more than one partner claims the same company, GitMe reviews the conflict. A valid approved deal takes priority over a referral link within its protection window.
What you can track
Your dashboard shows link activity, submitted and decided deals, attributed customer organizations, commission ledger entries and manual payout records. A visit or submitted deal is an opportunity, not a payable commission. Commission becomes payable only after an eligible customer payment is processed, any hold period passes and GitMe approves the entry.
Your agreement in the portal specifies your rate or fixed bounty, eligible window, duration, currency, hold period and minimum payout. GitMe may issue a new agreement version for future activity; earlier entries retain their recorded agreement reference. Refunds and chargebacks may add negative ledger entries. Payouts are manual and show a payment reference when marked paid.
Good practices
- Send prospects to the correct GitMe page and explain your relationship with GitMe clearly.
- Ask for a corporate email and accurate company details. Attribution is based on the resulting organization.
- Register named deals early, with context that helps GitMe review the relationship.
- Check your portal for decision requests and reply to GitMe's email if more information is needed.
- Contact
[email protected]for a disputed attribution or payment, including the deal or company details. Do not send customer passwords or payment credentials.
Program approval and attribution decisions are governed by your signed agreement and GitMe's review. The portal shows the operational record for that review.
